University of California, Berkeley Extension

Lead Instructor

Berkeley, CA
Created a unique world-class Certificate Program in Integrated Circuit Design and Techniques with bilingual soundtracks (English and Mandarin) for UC Berkeley Extension. Since 2008, over 230 engineers around the world, including Bosnia-Herzegovina, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, and Thailand, have participated in the program.

  • Developed 12 online IC design course curricula and contents with bilingual soundtracks for the University.
  • Created a dedicated education website, http://www.UCBerkeleyExt.com, with fully asynchronous learning model.
  • Established partnerships with the Berkeley’s Advisory Board Members consisting of UC Berkeley engineering faculty and leaders of major semiconductor companies.

Knowledge Master, Inc.

President & CEO

Irvine, CA
Developed a unique, on-demand content delivery system built around Macromedia Breeze/Adobe Connect and Flash technologies. Offering 96 electrical engineering career development courses through two websites, http://www.EEMaster.com and http://www.UCBerkeleyExt.com. The system lets students hear their instructor’s voice to walk them through interactive slides, as if they were sitting in the classroom, and lets students control their own pace of learning with a full set of controls to pause, rewind, repeat, skip and search through slide sets.

  • Created unique presentation methodology, including developing 30,000 animated slides with UC Berkeley’s program.
  • Produced Knowledge Master’s course curriculum which features 29 online courses offered through the partnership with IEEE Educational Activities Department.
  • Provided instructional service to UC San Diego Extension for the engineering courses. Courses include mixed-signal design, analog digital conversion and analog integrated-circuit (IC) design. Most students’ backgrounds were engineers coming from high tech corporations, such as Qualcomm, Broadcom, Sun Microsystems, and Conexant.

Tamkang University

Associate Professor of Department of Electrical Engineering

Taipei, Taiwan
Led eight government or industry-funded research projects totaling over US$116,500 and covering the field of analog IC design, medical-engineering, wireless communication, and electro-optics.

  • Authored 14 textbooks, including the three best-selling Microelectronics-related textbooks (Taiwan). Those three textbooks have been assigned as required reading by the National Chiao-Tung University and National Normal Taiwan University since 2003.
  • Earned excellent teaching evaluation above the averages from EE department, engineering school, and the university for seven consecutive years from 1995 to 2001.
  • Awarded ‘Honor of Tamkang’ in 2002 for the excellent performance in developing externally research fund projects and “Outstanding Professor in Research” for five consecutive years.
  • Served as an editor for the British journal, Optical and Quantum Electronics.
  • Published 40 international journal and conference papers as well as three patents.

Daso Educational Institute

Microelectronics Instructor

Taipei, Taiwan
Trained over 30,000 engineers and college students in Taiwan. Created a unique and strong teaching style. Top instructor for increasing revenue and market share for seven consecutive years between 1997 and 2003. Trained 3,000 students in microelectronics in four major cities annually. Offered six microelectronics classes in summer with an average class size of 300 seats. During those years, students had to enroll one year in advance to guarantee a seat in the class.

Archic Technology Corporation

Chief Technology Officer

Taipei, Taiwan
Recruited and led a technical team of 10 engineers to research and develop commercial analog integrated-circuit products, such as CMOS operational amplifier and 455kHz oscillator based on 0.5µm CMOS technology. Advised/instructed design engineers and offered weekly on-site training short courses.
